About the ballets:
WORLD PREMIERE: POINTE OF MOTION//
Inspired by how can have a profound change on someone’s behavior, this new work explores the impact music plays in society. The sound and messages we release through our art form directly impact our listeners in powerful ways. This is especially true of the youth and adolescents of our society, who are still extremely malleable to the world around them. The dancers movement set the tone and the music, as they create the sound of the piece in real time using Point Motion technology on stage.
Come to the lobby after the show and see how Point Motion works yourself by creating music with your movement! Point Motion is a technology to aide in Autism music therapy come try it out after the show.
WORLD PREMIERE: DRIFTLESS FRACTION//
‘Driftless Fraction’ is refreshing and exciting. This work is the result of Arch Contemporary Ballet’s National Summer Intensive for Dance & Composition at New York City Center – this world premiere performance showcases the dancers of this workshop and a world premiere composition by composers of the program.
Audience members get to meet the cast after the show!
