PERFORMANCE: Cornfield Dance Premiere

Cornfield Dance "Close-Up" andytoad

Cornfield Dance premieres Close-Up

Come see Cornfield Dance premiere Ellen Cornfield's newest work, Close-Up, at the Soaking WET Series curated by David Parker.

This dance physicalizes the emotions of the performers, integrating small, detailed movements—a shaking hand or a blinking eye—within the larger visual field of the piece, revealing the dancers’ inner worlds. This mercurial work moves from playful to sublime, with a robust full throttle movement vocabulary that drives the action forward.

Choreography: Ellen Cornfield
Music: Andreas Brade (live)
Set & Costumes: Andrew Jordan

Dancers: Ellen Cornfield, Pierre Guilbault, Vanessa Knouse, Ruth Howard, Logan Pedon, Joshua Tuason

Tickets: Online via link below ($21.69) or at the door with cash ($20) or credit card ($21.50)

Ellen Cornfield is one of our most inventive pure abstract dance makers. Her newest works – beautifully danced by top-notch performers – are replete with engaging movement detail and a continuous stream of fresh, surprising moments. Thoroughly enjoyable!”  - Joan Finkelstein, Executive Director, Harkness Foundation for Dance (2016)
