Creative Interns - Dance, Marketing, Digital

North Indin Classical Dance

Internship — Part-Time (10-15 hrs/week), Unpaid, Community Service hours offered and the chance to work in productions for your portfolio. Some paid opportunities may be offered, TBD. December 2020 – July 2020 (extendable/ongoing)

This is based part in-studio and part remote.

Vivarta Arts internships are for individuals that want to gain practical experience in the non-profit arts world as well as world dance. Interns are given the opportunity to learn how various departments contribute to the whole of Vivarta Arts by working directly with the Artistic Director on various projects necessary to the success of the organization.

Interns will work on various initiatives and projects in our Marketing, Development, Educational Programming, Fundraising, Production, and Wardrobe departments. They will work to develop projects, goals, and timelines best-suited to the organization’s needs and the intern’s skill set.

Interns will have opportunities to work on projects that include but are not limited to Dance Assistance, Marketing, Art/Design, etc. Interns will learn the basics of Kathak, a North Indian classical dance style, as well and have the opportunity to be a part of dance productions created by Vivarta Arts. If the need and when arises, there may be paid teaching opportunities as well.

Skills preferred, not all required: Strong oral and written communication skills; understanding and experience of Twitter, Facebook, YouTube Skills, Instagram, etc. Experience in Microsoft Office programs (or Google), and online research Experience with photo and video programs a plus.

No prior Indian Classical dance experience required. More important is the eagerness and willingness to learn and explore.
