"Halls of Your Heart" Columbia University MFA Short Film

Short Film Seeks Dancers to Audition

Casting for "Halls of Your Heart" a Columbia University MFA Short Film.

SYNOPSIS: A young man of color comes to New York to audition for a dance school. During the audition he has a fantasy about dancing in heels with a man who is on the judge's panel -- inspired by Harper Watters. The film is about anxiety, difference, subverting normativity, and, most importantly, trail blazing and finding the freedom of self expression.

Timmy (Lead): Male, 15-19
A late-teen from a small town in Connecticut. He is passionate about dancing ballet and, in an effort to escape his small town, he goes to New York City to audition for a prestigious dance school.

Harper (Lead): Male, 18-30
A professional ballet dancer and also fierce in stiletto high-heels. He represents self-actualization, freedom, and the absolute diligence it takes to transform the body into an instrument of artistic expression. In Harper, young Timmy sees what he can become in the future. This character is inspired by the true-life Harper Watters.

Compensation & Union Contract Details:

"Halls of Your Heart" is contracted under SAG-AFTRA's Student Film Agreement .

Compensation includes:
- Travel expenses, on-set meals provided
- BTS photos & videos of yourself from set
- High quality digital copy of finished film
- Access to individual video files for reel, etc.
