PILLAR Choreography Residency

The PILLAR Choreography Residency is a process driven residency that allows professional artists the opportunity to work without the limitations of producing a product through a space grant.  The space grant will be given at BODYART Studio in Long Island City.

PILLAR will begin August 1st 2010 and will grant 4 artists 6 hours of free rehearsal space each week for 5 weeks. During this time artists may use the space, but are not limited to, exploring within their given discipline, collaborating with other artists, and researching for an upcoming project. With exploration at the heart of the residency, the focus of the studio grant is to allow artists to work in new and varied ways. PILLAR does not support the space use for auditions, classes or events. PILLAR is open to artists from across the board, including choreographers, visual artists, installation artists, musicians etc., and is available to artists at all stages of their career.
