The Outlet Dance Project
is looking for:
Original choreography
Site-specific choreography
& Dance films

The Outlet Dance Project would like to invite choreographers (individual and companies) to submit an application to participate in the upcoming performance at Grounds For Sculpture in Hamilton, NJ, on Sunday, October 7, 2012, at 2pm.
Both the performance and dress rehearsal will take place on Sunday, October 7, 2012. Choreographers and performers must be available all day for dress rehearsal and photo shoot prior to performance.
The Outlet Dance Project provides a performance opportunity for emerging women choreographers from New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and New York. The Outlet is committed to supporting a variety of traditional and nontraditional dance forms and venues.

The festival celebrates the collaboration between sculpture, architecture, and dance. Through performances and outreach programs we are inspiring the Central New Jersey community and enriching the lives of young people and adults through dance.www.theoutletdanceproject.com

The performance showcases staged dances as well as site-specific dances. The first half takes place inside the Seward Johnson Center for the Arts and the second half takes place outdoors in and around the 35 acres of beautifully landscaped grounds with over 200 contemporary sculptures.Additionally, dance films focusing on site-specific choreography will be shown simultaneously in the Visitor's Center screening room of the Seward Johnson Center for the Arts.www.groundsforsculpture.org

Application Information

We are looking for:
-original choreography in any genre created for the stage
-site-specific choreography created specifically for Grounds for Sculpture
-dance films of site-specific choreography
Application Details
Application Postmarked by Monday, April 30, 2012
Decisions made by May 14, 2012

Application Must Include:
-Choreographer's contact information: name, address, phone number, and email
-Choreographer's bio (250 words or less)
-Title, description, length of work being submitted (no less than 2 minutes and no longer than 15 minutes), and web link of work being submitted.If you are submitting an idea for a site-specific work, please provide a 5-10 minute sample of a previous work with a written proposal of choreographic intent. Please include where in Grounds for Sculpture you would like your dance to take place and how your piece relates to this site-specific location.

Please note:
All site-specific choreography submitted will be considered, but priority will be given to those dances that are created specifically for a piece of sculpture at Grounds for Sculpture and/or are relevant to the intersections of sculpture and dance.

-Film submissions should include a short or full-length version of the work with Internet links only.
