CALL FOR ALL QUEENS-BASED Choreographers and Dance Companies!

2019 QUEENSBORO DANCE FESTIVAL TOUR:  May 11- October 6

Submission Deadline:  April 8

Connect with your Queens dance community and neighborhoods, while discovering the borough and sharing your work with local audiences!  The QDF 2019 tour is 26 performances in over 15 Queens neighborhoods.

 

Celebrating its 6th season, the mission of the Queensboro Dance Festival (QDF) is to strengthen the dance community in Queens, and garner a greater appreciation for Queens dance.  QDF is an annual, 6-month tour across Queens theaters, parks, plazas, streets, libraries, and other uniquely Queens venues! 

 

~All dance forms of any cultures and styles welcome! 
~Choreographer or dance company must be based in Queens
~Free to apply, free to participate
~ALAANA (African/Latinx/Asian/Arab/Native American) majority dance cast, and/or majority Queens-based dance cast encouraged
~Premieres of dance work, or collaborations with Queens musicians encouraged

 

Queensboro Dance Festival participants receive:

~Free rehearsal space at Jamaica Performing Arts Center
~Free Career Development Workshop with Jamaica Center of Arts and Learning (JCAL)’s Director of Programs & Artist Services
~Free Fundraising/Grant Workshop with Queens Theatre’s Executive Director and Development team
~Discounted rehearsal space at Spaceworks LIC
~Free Queens artist meetups & parties
~Free master classes by RIOULT Dance NY and more
~QDF Class Xchange:  Paid teaching opportunities and access to free dance classes
~Special access to Queens arts institutions
~Photo and video footage
