2020 New Movement Residency

dancers jumping in studio Mary Mallaney

Utilizing and maximizing its distinctive resources, including renowned faculty and large studio spaces, the USC Glorya Kaufman School of Dance will make available space to explore, create and prepare work for future touring and presentations. Up to three artists will be selected to participate in the 2020 New Movement Residency.

Eligible artists for the 2020 residency will be professional, post-college dancemakers based in Southern California. Artists with recent regional and national touring history and/or the strong potential to tour the work to be created during the residency will be more competitive. Selected artists may be asked to provide a workshop for BFA students and may be asked to include USC Kaufman BFA students in their creative process, whether to observe and document the creation of work at various stages, or shadow and interview choreographers, rehearsal directors and/or dancers in the process.

February 2020: Review and selection of proposals
