Visiting Lecturer of Dance University of Florida

The University of Florida is pleased to announce a search for a one-year Visiting Lecturer position in dance to begin August 16, 2011.  We seek a contemporary dance artist with a national/international reputation and experience in higher education; an artist/teacher who is passionate about the practice and theory of contemporary dance. 
Responsibilities: Teaching of all levels of contemporary technique (modern/ballet), dance composition, improvisation, and repertory. Advising students, choreographing/setting works on the students and other production and advisement responsibilities will be required.  Also desirable is the ability and eagerness to contribute to the dance program’s diverse array of courses and projects and ability and experience in advisement, recruitment and mentoring of undergraduate students in their projects and theses. Understanding of and experience in emerging media/performance technologies and an interest and/or experience in online delivery of courses is also desired.

MINUMUM QUALIFICATIONS: MFA or PhD Degree (or equivalent professional experience) with significant experience and currency in the field as a performer/choreographer.
