Marketing/Office Assistant

The Marketing/Office Assistant is a part-time, hourly position, no more than 20 hours per week. The Marketing Assistant is supervised by the Communications/Development Manager and supports the work of the Company Manager and the general office as needed.

Communications - Assists the Communications Manager with social media, scheduling posts and maintaining the calendar. Posts event descriptions to various online outlets. Maintains the mailing list and assists with direct mail. Proof read marketing and other written materials. Occasionally assists with email marketing and photo editing. Attends events and assists with front of house set up and photography/videography.

Grant writing support – Assist in the preparation of small grants, interim and final reports and corporate sponsorships. Will also research new funding opportunities. 

Office Administration - Initial point of contact when in the office. Provides general administrative support. Assists in maintaining office files and supplies. Updates staff meeting minutes. Maintains and distributes monthly events calendar. Assists Company Manager in coordinating NJ SummerDance (NJSD) Intensive and managing scholarship students. Serves as the On-Site Coordinator during the week of NJSD in August. Performs additional duties as needed.

Qualifications – Must be able to work efficiently and effectively in a fast paced, creative environment and be able to manage multiple different assignments simultaneously. Comfortable using social media platforms with strong communication skills especially in writing, proofreading and editing proposals and marketing copy. Must have access to a car.

Must have – At least a BA in liberal, media arts, PR/communications, English or arts management. Experience working in a creative organization, social service or arts non –profit. Detailed oriented and comfortable speaking with and engaging with diverse individuals.
