NYC Dancers & Beyond! We are so thrilled to announce our very exciting Summer Intensive!  The Intensive runs from July 12 - 16, 2021, offering classes, workshops, and some stress-free evening activities such as discussions, guest teachers, outings, and more! This Intensive will run virtually. Additionally, our Upstate NY BodyStories Property in Jefferson NY, the Middlebrook Residency Center, will offer limited in-person and housing options for the intensive. 

Virtual Participants - ages 16+ ; In-person participants - ages 18+

Dates: July 12 - 16, 2021

Technique: 11:30 am - 1:00 pm

Improvisation + Composition: 1:30 pm - 3:30 pm

 

This Summer Intensive will further BodyStories’ Mission of unleashing creativity and empowerment in dancers and developing a deeper understanding of the relationship between art and activism. Dancers will rediscover joy in movement through inspiring and challenging technical, composition, and improvisational classes each day. Together we will hone in on our skills through partnering movement, music, and text, in addition to investigating the relationship between dance and social justice. You won’t want to miss out on this opportunity! Virtually or in-person at the Middlebrook Residency Center, our intensive will serve as a space to create an environment of learning and growth, and expand your vocabulary. 

Exploring dance virtually has allowed us the opportunity to grow as movers and artists; dancing within our confines, adapting to our environments, and broadening our minds. Students can attend the intensive virtually or in-person, with or without housing. Please note that in-person attendance and housing are limited; register ASAP to reserve in-person attendance and housing. Students may register for the entire intensive, one class for the full week, select days, or attend on a drop-in basis. Please reach out 24 hours in advance so we can plan accordingly.

In accordance with our COVID Safety Guidelines, ALL in-person dancers must be fully vaccinated and provide proof of vaccination.

Rates

Virtual - $120 for the week

In-person - $150 for the week

Drop-in - $17 *please reach out 24 hours in advance so we can plan accordingly*

Housing fee (if needed) - $150 for the week
