Adult Open Class: Umfundalai African Dance

DTH School Instructor Erin Bryce Holmes

Take our Adult Open Class: Umfundalai African Dance on Thursdays, 6:30-7:45pm ET, on Zoom for $8. Our class will be taught by DTH Instructor Erin Bryce Holmes, M.S., LCAT, BC-DMT! Purchase Tickets

Umfundalai (ma-foon-da-la) is a Kiswahili word meaning, “essential”. This contemporary Pan-African dance technique draws from movements and traditions of the African Diaspora. The technique espouses a wholistic view of the body and the arts including theater, drumming, song, masquerade, and vocalization. The codified technique of Umfundalai stands on the shoulders of the Katherine Dunham and Pearl Primus technique. It is great cardio and history all in one class!

You don't want to miss it! All purchases for open classes must be made by 6pm EDT/ 3pm PDT the day of the class. After that time, purchases will be closed.
