Explore Spain while learning about Flamenco Dance  | Registration Open

July 6th-17th. (online sessions). Discover the history and culture of Spain through the Art of Flamenco with the famous Spanish “bailaora” Carmen Morente and our Spanish language and culture specialist Sandra Laga. This two-week online program will take you through a revision of the Spanish Culture emphasizing the Flamenco roots in our culture. Students will meet in synchronous daily classes with both professors and classmates in real-time. You will have the opportunity to learn about the rhythms, the steps, and the pasos of flamenco dance as you learn about the highlights of Spanish culture, painters, and writers. The class is a combination of theory and practice and the final project will be a group virtual choreography based on Cervantes´ famous short novel of La Gitanilla. A fun and different way to practice your Spanish and learn about Spain from home.

Two weeks immersion experience in Spain (optional). During the immersion period, you will have the opportunity to visit all the sites and places and personally meet all of the musicians and dancers that you met virtually during the online part of the course.
