Ballet Collective dancer. Mona Kuhn

Performed by 8 dancers from New York City Ballet and 24 musicians from The Knights

Two acclaimed arts collectives, BalletCollective and The Knights, join forces to present new ballets and existing repertory created by artists at the vanguard of their forms, including three world premieres. For four performances only, experience these artists' creations up close in one of NYC's newest and most exciting dance venues, GK Arts Center in Dumbo, Brooklyn.

This season’s presentation, “Faraway,” includes works inspired by artist Zaria Forman’s NASA-commissioned flights over the Arctic and Antarctic addressing climate change, Trevor Paglen’s exploration of machine learning, the photojournalism produced by George Steinmetz in the world’s deserts, and science fiction author Ken Liu’s meditation on the human experience.

Musical works by Julianna Barwick, Caleb Burhans, Christina Courtin* & Alex Sopp*, Judd Greenstein*, György Kurtág, and Pulitzer Prize winner Paul Moravec*

Choreography by Preston Chamblee*, Gabrielle Lamb, and Troy Schumacher*
