A Remote Immediate Dances Experience
MARCH 2–30, 2021

Tuesdays In March
11AM–2PM EST
5 SESSIONS
$200 UNTIL FEBRUARY 1/ $250 AFTER

In Immediate Dances, artists work with a new initiation, prompt, or score each week to create a short dance, which is shown and recorded at the end of each class.
Creators have a number of choices each session.
These include:
Creating as a solo or collaborative artist.
Being a (collaborative) performer.
Being a dramaturg for another creator.
Watching the various processes without being either a mover or maker.
The prompts, or scores, are meant to create distinct and specific challenges related to space, time, audience relationships, meaning, imagery, narrative, and the use of text. Makers will be called upon to do spontaneous problem solving, and will build skills in immediate choice-making and unfettered creation.
Alexandra will be available throughout the making session as a mentor or witness as you need. Creators will work with a new group every week, and in new structures and dynamics, challenging them to deepen their adaptability both stylistically and interpersonally.

Unedited video documentation of every performance will be given at the end of the workshop to everyone who wants them.
