Isadora Duncan Nature Repertory and other Timeless Dances
Dance Visions NY is delighted to present a unique, tailored program for Sands Point Preserve. Included are several works created this year as well as company favorites. Highlights include Isadora Duncan’s Tribute to Greek Gods, created to Schubert’s Symphony in C (the Great), and new Beth Jucovy works. Earth Trilogy includes Isadora Duncan dances of nature, "Delicate Web", which illustrates the possible effects of climate change on humanity, and "Hymn", a prayer for the earth created to a Native American medley arranged for the dance by soprano and choral director, Farah Chandu. The program also features "Jolted Reverie," another new work, set to music of Beethoven and percussionist Napoleon Revels Bey, who will play live at the concert along with pianist Paul Baserman. "Tangos" another premiere, includes duets, featuring one man and four women, and an enticing finalé, created to the stunning music of Astor Piazollo.
