"RED BETWEEN THE LINES:" A Quarantine Dance Film VIRTUAL Premiere

Red Between The Lines

LIVESTREAM PREMIERE:

"RED BETWEEN THE LINES: Six Portraits of Life & Art in Quarantine" is an experimental dance film created remotely at the start of the pandemic by 6 artists from the contemporary art and street dance world. While scheduled to create a live immersive performance experience at The Ailey Citigroup Theater in April 2020, like the rest of the dance & art world, their show was postponed indefinitely due to COVID-19. In its place, each artist created at 1-minute piece inside their respective homes and collaborated virtually on this film. While each artist worked with adapting original concepts intended for the Ailey stage to their home environments, what emerges is their collective grapplings with life and art under quarantine — intrinsically woven into a tapestry and expression of our time — as well as a testament to the resiliency of the dance & arts community as a whole.

Featuring the Works of:

HBO’s Random Acts of Flyness’ Movement Director Damani Pompey
LA-Based Movement Composer Darrel "Friidom" Dunn
Rising Lebanese Choreographer Dolly Sfeir
Legendary Artist Linda Mason
"The Flexing Ballerina" Martina 'Android' Heimann
NY/LA-based Movement Director & Choreographer Zoe Rappaport

The livestream + artist talk-back will be hosted by the The Social Distancing Festival.
