Jonah Bokaer Arts Foundation presents the RECESS Salons Series and performances, monthly, on Mondays at 7:30pm - including hospitality, and networking: unique in the field, our salon series program connects with our Young Patrons Group, fostering a two-way dialogue between artists, supporters, and audiences.

Artist:
David Norsworthy, a Toronto-born dance artist, graduated from The Juilliard School. He has danced works by Ohad Naharin, Crystal Pite and William Forsythe, and has been privileged to perform with companies including Toronto Dance Theatre (Canada), Jonah Bokaer Choreography (USA), Brian Brooks Moving Company (USA), Dancenorth (Australia) and Skånes Dansteater (Sweden). He has been featured in Dance Studio Life Magazine, The Dance Current and USA Today College. The NY Times has described David as "intense... yet vulnerable... sensual and raw". He is the founder of FRESH Dance Intensive (freshdanceintensive.com) and TOES FOR DANCE (toesfordance.ca).

Program:
Possibilities of Dialogue (Performance)

Co-created and performed by Toronto-based dance artist David Norsworthy and NYC-based dance artist Marielis Garcia, Possibilities of Dialogue is an exchange of energy and awareness. Inspired by the parallels between making a dance and having a conversation, the performance is an abstracted collaborative creative process; moments of listening, curiosity, disagreement and spontaneity unfold through movement and text. It is often playful, lively and physically virtuosic, sometimes uncomfortable, sometimes surprising and almost always responsive to and inclusive of the audience. Audience members are welcome to observe and interact through the invitations that are offered.
