The Harlem Project 2019

N/A Steven Wachel

The Harlem Project is back! For the fourth year, Matthew Westerby Company presents its annual celebration of community dance. The project brings together groups of professional & community performers of all ages from Harlem, Brooklyn and the Bronx, including the seven MWC dancers and an apprentice ensemble of college and high school dancers. Pop-Up Performances will take place throughout Harlem in July and August and the project culminates in a final performance for over 70 participants in the wonderful Richard Rodgers Amphitheater in Marcus Garvey Park. Free and open to all! Special pre-show performances, Zumba and art-making... don't miss it!

The Harlem Project is made possible in part with public funds from Creative Engagement supported by the New York City Department of Cultural Affairs in partnership with the City Council and the New York State Council on the Arts with the support of Governor Andrew Cuomo and administered by LMCC.

The Harlem Project is made possible in part with funding from the Upper Manhattan Empowerment Zone Development Corporation and administered by LMCC.
