World Dance Passport: Travel the World Through Dance

Featuring Lamine Thiam Senegalese Dance Group, Ajna Dance Bollywood, Sol La Argentina Flamenco Ensemble and more!

Lotus Music & Dance is pleased to present World Dance Passport, as part of the Cultural Immigrant Initiative with support from NYC Councilman Ydanis Rodriguez featuring traditional Senegalese Dance and Drumming, Flamenco and Bollywood Dance. These artists will share their cultural heritages through dances as well as share their immigrant stories. Many of these groups have settled in NYC for more than ten years, and are passing on their respective traditional art forms to the next generation.

Featured artists include Lamine Thiam, a master dancers who comes from a long lineage of griots, who will share the deep connections of dance and music to everyday Senegalese life; Ajna Dance with its signature dance style blending the grace and technique of classical dance with the energy and passion of Bollywood, and Flamenco with Sol La Argentinita who has been described as a master of her craft bringing the energy in a room to a fever pitch with her rhythm, speed and skill along with her ensemble of dancers and live musical accompaniment.
