Hiring Company Dancers

Come, move with us! Cali Jacobs

Emily Cargill and Dancers (ECD) is hiring 1-3 company dancers for our 2024-2025 performance season.  Emily Cargill and Dancers is a professional, contemporary dance company based in Jacksonville, FL.  Our mission is to cultivate and ignite a collaborative environment both in the rehearsal process and in our community, working with and being inspired by artists of all disciplines and heightening the caliber of concert dance in the city of Jacksonville and beyond.  Each season, ECD engages in several local performance opportunities, including producing the annual event The Women Arts Exchange, sustains a regional and national touring calendar, and offers the only professional level contemporary dance class in the city. We value innovation, curiosity and collaboration within our dance-making process and strive to create work that is daring, authentic, humanistic and bold.

The company rehearses 10 hours a week, with the season going from September through the end of May.

To apply, please send a 1-2 minute improvisation video (rehearsal footage, not performance) and a 1 page resume to:  emilycargillanddancers@gmail.com by Friday, May 10.  Dancers will be notified via email by Sunday, May 12, if they are invited to an in-person callback, which will take place in Jacksonville, FL on Tuesday, June 4 from 9 am-12 pm.

We are looking for dancers who are excited about and find value in the creation process, are interested in risk taking, and who are dedicated and open to taking a humanistic and authentic approach to dance-making.
