Level Two Intensive Training: Creating Choreography for Children

Take your training in the NDI Method to the next level with our Level Two Intensive Training program. This immersive experience is designed for dance educators looking to deepen their expertise, expand their artistic horizons, and refine their teaching skills.

 

Program Highlights:

- Core Technique Review: Participants will review and reinforce the core teaching techniques of the NDI Method, building a strong foundation for effective and inspiring dance instruction.

- Choreography Exploration : Deepen your understanding of how to effectively choreograph for children, exploring creative and age-appropriate approaches that captivate young minds.

- Artistic Discovery: Experience artistic and theatrical ways of exploring themes, allowing you to infuse creativity and storytelling into your classes, enriching the student experience.

- Musical Proficiency: Strengthen your musical knowledge to make more informed choreographic decisions, musical choices and communicate with musicians more clearly. 

- Mentoring and Leadership: Gain tools and insights for mentoring, supporting, and providing constructive feedback to teachers within your organization or school nurturing growth and development.

- Community Building: Build a strong sense of community with a cohort of experienced dance educators from across the country, fostering collaboration and a network of support.

- A deep dive into the craft of choreography and how to direct a performance.

- Music workshops to enhance your understanding of the relationship between dance and music.

- Presentations from leaders in dance and education.

Optional Behind-the-Scenes Experience:
Participants have the option to attend a behind-the-scenes experience, which can take place at one of our Celebration Team rehearsals on either the Saturday before or after the training. This unique opportunity allows you to gain insights into the preparation and rehearsal process for an NDI dance performance.

Application Process:

To participate in the Level Two Intensive Training, interested individuals must complete an application. The application deadline is May 10, 2024. Application form linked here.

 

Eligibility:
Level Two Intensive Training is exclusively open to teachers who have previously taken a Level One training with NDI or are teachers with an Associate of National Dance Institute (ANDI) certification.


Tiered Pricing and Scholarships:

- The program features tiered pricing, with fees ranging from $600 to $800.

- Scholarships are available based on need, ensuring accessibility for all qualified applicants.

- Once accepted into the training, all participants will have the option to apply for a scholarship. 


Why Tiered Pricing?
We believe that professional development for arts educators should be available and accessible to all. Towards that core belief, the NDI Collaborative is using tiered pricing. This is an intentional effort to offer equitable pricing to individuals and organizations, so everyone can have access to our trainings.


Is This a Certification Program?
The NDI Collaborative for Teaching & Learning is not a certification program. Upon successful completion of the program, participants will receive a Certificate of Completion from National Dance Institute, recognizing their participation in the training. Participation in our training program does not qualify you as an NDI teacher, nor does it allow you to train others in the NDI Method.
