Position Overview: We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Video Intern to join our team and assist with sorting through archival video footage. The Video Intern will play a crucial role in organizing and categorizing our extensive video library, which contains footage of dance performances, interviews, behind-the-scenes content, and more. This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in archival management and an immersion in the vibrant world of dance.

Responsibilities:

Sort through archival video footage, categorizing and organizing it based on specified criteria.

Create detailed metadata and tags for videos to ensure easy retrieval and accessibility.

Assist in digitizing and transferring analog video materials to digital formats for preservation purposes.

Collaborate with the editorial and digital teams to identify valuable video content for potential publication or promotion.

Conduct research to verify the accuracy and context of video content, includingidentifying dancers, choreographers, and performances.

Assist in the creation of highlight reels, montages, and promotional videos using archival footage as needed.

Support other video-related tasks and projects as assigned by the supervisor.

Qualifications:

Currently enrolled in or recent graduate of a relevant degree program (e.g., Film Studies, Media Production, Library Science, Dance Studies, etc.).

Strong interest in dance and familiarity with different dance styles, genres, and artists.

Basic knowledge of video editing software (e.g., Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, etc.) preferred.

Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to accurately catalog and annotate large volumes of video content.

Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.

Proficiency in conducting online research and verifying information.

Prior experience with archival management or video production is a plus, but not required.
