About

Made possible by the support of the Howard Gilman Foundation and Ford Foundation, Dance/NYC’s Dance Advancement Fund was established in 2017 to address the inequitable distribution of resources in the dance field and advance its resilience and thriving.

As of 2026, the Dance Advancement Fund has distributed over $2.25 million in general operating support to 112 unique dance-making organizations. Learn more about the past iterations of the fund and the grantees.

This year, Dance/NYC is once again administering the program, and a selected grantee cohort of 25 dance-making organizations will receive general operating support grants ranging from $6,000 to $40,000, awarded over a two-year period from September 1, 2026, to August 31, 2028. Learn more about the 2026-2028 program, and apply.
