EMERGING CHOREOGRAPHERS

Thank you for your interest in the Emerging Choreographer Project.
Springboard Danse Montréal 2019 will take place June 9 – 28, 2019. The final showing will be on June 28 at 6:30pm at Usine C.

HOW TO APPLY
All applications must be received by DECEMBER 1, 2018. The notification of acceptance is FEBRUARY 16, 2019.

To apply as an Emerging Choreographer, you are required to complete the following:

Please note that partial applications will be discarded.

Complete and submit the online application form. You will be required to submit the following electronically:

1) A link to recent work. Footage should show your most recent work that best represents your current explorations. An example of group work is recommended, as the selected Emerging Choreographers will be working with an average cast size of 15 dancers.
2) A copy of your choreographic resumé.
3) A Letter of recommendation as a choreographer.
A one-page proposal for a work, indicating your preference to create for the stage or an installation setting. If you would like to be considered for both please include two proposals with your application.
4) A personal artistic statement, one-page maximum.
5) The application fee of $40* USD, payable via PayPal.

24 hours of rehearsal time with your cast
Free access to studio space during the project (upon request)
Opportunity to create either:

6-minute Proscenium work, or
20-minute Installation work

10 Principal companies from Canada, the United States and Europe alongside whom you will present at Usine C
Platform to present previously created work at Espace culturel Georges-Émile-Lapalme, Place des arts
15 hours of workshops with the Principal Companies during Week One
Opportunity to observe Principal companies during Weeks Two & Three rehearsals
15 morning classes with 5 teachers (ballet and various forms of contemporary, including Gaga and floorwork)
450+ invited guests at the final showing, including Presenters, Agents, Managers & Artistic Directors representing companies from Canada, the United States & Europe
