Virtual Auditions for New Dance Project

TK Dance Lab, a brand new, online experiential platform connecting dance artists across area codes and state lines. 

Artistic Director: Stephanie Tolbert-King, Dance Educator, Choreographer and Performance Artist 

Stephanie's professional/choreographic credits include American Dance Festival, Philadelphia Fringe Festival, Wilmington Fringe Festival, WAXworks (Williamsburg Art Nexxus), Kun-Yang Lin/Dancers, 7Midnights Physical Research, Grounds for Sculpture and more. Her accomplishments as an artist span across New Orleans, NYC, Philadelphia, Delaware and New Jersey. 

Who Are We: We are a virtual dance company made up of professional dancers who have different area codes but the same mission. We are a community of artists. We are a tool for professional development and we hope to be a vessel for change. 

Mission: Our mission is to use collaboration and exploration in dance to connect artists from different neighborhoods, to make social justice the priority through which we use dance to spark dialogue and change, and to stand firm in our commitment to keeping inclusion, equity and diversity at the forefront of our practice. 

What We Do: Online performances, online workshops taught by the artistic director and company members (which are open to the public), and webinars/Q&A's centered around our mission. 

Audition Information: We are looking for company members to join our 2020-2021 season. Company members will be expected to commit to a once-a-month virtual project; anything additional will be optional. Dancers of all backgrounds and levels are highly encouraged to submit an audition. This is a virtual audition submission, so dancers both in and outside of NYC are welcome to submit. Must be 18 years or older.

Audition Requirements: 

-2-3 minute audition video. This must be you dancing and must be your own choreography. An existing piece may be submitted, but it must showcase you. Large group pieces will not be considered. This does not have to be a formal performance video.
