Teacher Bio: 

TIFFANY REA-FISHER is the appointed Artistic Director of Elisa Monte Dance. Tiffany joined Elisa Monte Dance in 2004 where she was principal dancer until 2010, and has been featured in national and international publications for both her dancing and choreography. Her newer works are relevant to and observant of current global issues and ideas.

Under Tiffany’s leadership the company has taken on an edgier image and emphasize collaborating with distinguished artists across a variety of disciplines. Her work extends well beyond the stage creating work for the film, museums, fashion, and the music industry.

Tiffany has extensive experience in choreographing and curating concert dance. As a choreographer Tiffany has had the pleasure of creating numerous pieces for the company as well as being commissioned by Dance Theater of Harlem, Dallas Black Dance Theater, NYC Department of Transportation, Utah Repertory Theater, The National Gallery of Art in D.C., and having her work performed for the Duke and Duchess of Luxembourg. Her works have been seen on many stages including the Joyce, the Apollo, Joe’s Pub, Aaron Davis Hall, and New York Live Arts in New York City.

In 2009 Tiffany and her husband started the non-profit Inception to Exhibition (ITE) which provides a holistic arts experience by supplying low cost, high quality space to NYC-based artists in the fields of Dance, Theater, Music and Film through monetary grants and performance/exhibition opportunities.

Tiffany Rea-Fisher received her BFA from the Conservatory of Dance at Purchase College SUNY. While at Purchase she co-founded ForArts, the school’s first interdisciplinary presenting organization, which provided opportunities for students from different conservatories to create collaborative works.

With education as a major pillar in her pursuit to bettering the dance field, Tiffany ensures that she has contact with students from around the country to share what she has learned and encourage them to train their mind and voice as much as their body. In 2018 she added another directorship to her title becoming the Director for the Lake Placid School of Dance in Lake Placid, New York. As a Faculty Member at Steps on Broadway, she trains both professional and pre-professional dancers, and teaches master classes, including some abroad. In April 2020, she created the #AMovementThruMovement Challenge where dancers of all ages created a 16-count phrase inspired by a social-political topic of their choosing.
