7th Annual Orange Dance Festival

A day of dance classes taught by some of the most in demand dance industry professionals. Past festival faculty have included Sean Bankhead, Ebony Williams, Keenan Cooks, Derek Mitchell, Miles Keeney, Jeremy McQueen, Ronald Alexander, Jeroboam Bozeman, Iquail Shaheed. Their credits include Fifth Harmony, FoxTV, the Oscars, BeyoncA?, Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater, Dance Theatre of Harlem, the Grammys, Lip Sync Battle, Black Iris Project, Philadanco, Hamilton tour. Under the guidance of Ronald C. Lee, Interim Superintendent of Schools, the Orange Dance Festival is an annual event hosted by the Orange Public School District and the Orange Dance Conservatory, a grant-funded district initiative. The aim of the festival is to provide dance classes with master guest artists from around the country to students in the tri-state area. The festival includes six master classes in the genres of ballet, tap, jazz, hiphop, modern, and world styles. Dancers also have the opportunity to participate in scholarship auditions, panel discussions, and industry networking. The festival is open to participants who are 7-years-old to adult. PHIL WRIGHT, our headliner this year, is a reknowned hip-hop choreographer and dancer who has danced with artists including Cardi B, Ellen, Nicki Minaj, Pharrell, GEazy, MC Hammer, Aloe Blacc, and Pitbull. He is also a teacher at the Millennium Dance Complex, Debbie Reynolds Dance Studio, IDA Dance Academy, and on staff for numerous regional and national dance conventions. Dance studios and pre-professional companies may submit a piece to perform at the culminating dancer showcase held at the end of the day's activities.
