SALON SERIES: MOVEMENT ART IS FEATURING JON BOOGZ & LIL BUCK
Saturday, May 19 at 7:00PM
SOUNDSTAGE

Jon Boogz and Lil Buck are movement artists.  As dancers and creators they are also interested in tackling important social issues.  For them, dance is about social consciousness, it’s about affecting change and fostering a more connected and empathetic society.  The duo is breaking ground for the next wave of movement artists looking to redefine contemporary dance.

The Apollo’s Salon Series invites Boogz and Buck to spend time in a creative lab developing a new work for its Apollo Harlem 100 Commissioning Project.  The Apollo is commissioning a series of artists to reflect on the upcoming 100th anniversary of the Harlem Renaissance – its impact and the new renaissance of black cultural expression and art.

Join Boogz and Buck for this intimate artist talk as they pull back the curtain on their unique creative process to share reflections, research and early developments of this new work-in-progress.
