Kirstein’s “Live Eye”
Wednesday, September 18, 7:00 pm–8:30 pm
James Steichen, music scholar and author of Balanchine and Kirstein’s American Enterprise, and Samantha Friedman, curator of the recent Lincoln Kirstein’s Modernexhibit at the Museum of Modern Art, will discuss Lincoln Kirstein’s arts patronage, favorite artists, affiliation with MoMA, and his path to partnering with George Balanchine to establish the School of American Ballet and what would eventually become New York City Ballet.

The Ballets Russes Aesthetic
Wednesday, September 25, 7:00 pm–8:30 pm
Olivier Bernier, art historian and lecturer, will illuminate the influence of the Ballets Russes on art, fashion, and society. Tickets to Mr. Bernier's hugely popular lecture series at the Metropolitan Museum of Art have been selling out since 1982. He has also lectured across the country to museums and women’s clubs.

Ballet Photography: Perspectives from Behind the Lens
Wednesday, October 2, 7:00 pm–8:30 pm
Professional dance photographer Erin Baiano will speak about her work behind the lens. SAB students will join her in the studio to provide an intimate look at the efforts behind capturing the beauty of movement in a still shot. Erin Baiano is an SAB alumna. She danced professionally with American Ballet Theatre for six years. After retiring from dance she was mentored by culture photographer Paul Kolnik and studied photojournalism at the International Center of Photography.
