Earth Trilogy

From Delicate Web Anthony Pepitone

Dance Visions NY will perform "Earth Trilogy” for Fast Forward at Dixon Place on a shared bill curated by Sangeeta Yesley, around the theme “Earth – Our Home, Our Identity,” featuring Dance Visions NY and DoubleTake Dance.

Dance Visions NY’s Earth Trilogy explores the human impact upon the natural world in three sections. The first section includes Isadora Duncan dance solos that celebrate the wonders of nature. The second section, Delicate Web, created in collaboration with poet Kyra Jucovy and with the performers, depicts how we, humankind, in our self-absorption, have destroyed the precious natural world that we have taken for granted, and alludes to the present-day issues that will challenge us even more drastically in the future, mitigated only by extremely dramatic action.  The 3rd section, Hymn, created in collaboration with Farah Chandu, and performed by Willow Interfaith Women’s Choir, is a tribute to Earth.  The work is in juxtaposition with, and serves as an aftermath for, Delicate Web.

"Earth Trilogy" was insightful, poignant, timely and just plain important.” Martha Theodos, audience review for The Dance Enthusiast
