Immersive Performance Summer Intensive

Third Rail Projects Photo by Joshua Dutton-Reaver

This three-day intensive offers a comprehensive exploration of Third Rail Projects’ approach to crafting and performing in immersive performance formats, with the added element of working closely alongside six of the company’s core teaching artists including Co-Artistic Directors Jennine Willett and Tom Pearson, Associate Artistic Director Marissa Nielsen-Pincus, and longstanding company members Tara O’Con, Rebekah Morin, and Edward Rice. Each teacher will share a unique aspect of Third Rail’s toolbox covering topics such as:
- Developing presence and clarity around audience engagement
- Spontaneity and responsiveness to the changing landscape of an active audience
- Generative game play for crafting immersive scenes
- Understanding ritual, narrative, and audience initiation through the study of a scene from one of our immersive productions
This intensive blends concentrated work time with ample time for questions and discourse. Experience in performance and a willingness to move is a requisite for this course.
