Voice as Movement with Vocal Artist Peter Sciscioli

This two-part lab connects us to our unique vocal power, expanding a variety of choices that are available to us, and allowing for a fuller means of expression through the body.

This lab is intended for anyone interested in exploring or using voice as a practice and/or in performance.

For the first session, we’ll use an anatomy-based approach to increasing awareness of the breath, accessing many dimensions of sound production, and working into speaking and singing.

For the second session, we’ll apply some of these fundamentals to more exploratory work, illuminating several specific voice/body connections and dialogues.

Overall, we will discover how exploring the voice as movement can expand the variety of choices that are available, connect us to our unique vocal power, and allow for a fuller means of expression through the body.

*Some experience with the voice is helpful but not necessary.
