Internship Opportunities with Anabella Lenzu/DanceDrama

 

Anabella Lenzu/ DanceDrama is offering:
Part-time Intern Positions for Development and Marketing.

AL/DD offers internship opportunities focusing on arts administration, development, media and marketing. The intern will gain experience in operations, marketing, public relations and social media marketing strategies within an emerging and very active community based professional dance company. The development and marketing intern must have excellent oral and written communications skills, be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and able to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.

Duties will include assisting with:
Marketing campaigns
Production of seasonal events
Grant research and application process
Strategic database management

All applicants should be available to commit for a minimum of 3 months, and preferably 12 hours per week negotiable.

Internships can range from 3-12 month commitments, initially unpaid, with the opportunity to grow into a paid position.

All interns will receive free attendance to all AL/DD performances, as well as attendance to select classes. AL/DD will also provide well needed references, essential to applicants pursuing a career in the arts.

Anabella Lenzu/DanceDrama is thought provoking and historically conscious dance-theater, breaking down the wall separating artist from audience. Based in New York, the mission of AL/DD is to establish and develop a cultural, educational and artistic exchange between the communities of the United States, Argentina & Italy.

Lenzu crosses sociopolitical and cultural barriers, promoting dance and art education through teaching and performing.

AL/DD explores themes of collective memory, individual identity, and social awareness by having dancers and audience fuse in a psychological and emotional experience.

Anabella Lenzu/DanceDrama, had its premier New York season produced and presented by Dance New Amsterdam in October 2006.

Since then, the company’s work has been seen in Baryshnikov Arts Center, Movement Research at Judson Church, 92nd Street Y, DUMBO Festival, Galapagos Art Space, WAXworks, Center for Remembering & Sharing (CRS), Chashama, The Embassy of Argentina, COOL New York Festival, La Mama, Hatch Series/TheWorks Studio, NYU Casa Zerilli Marimo, Merce Cunningham Studio, New Dance Group Art Center, University Settlement, Abrons Arts Center, Jewish Community Center, HERE Arts Center, and Charlotte Dance Festival/NC, among others.
