Call for Dance Companies

House of the Roses seeks submissions for this year’s spring performance!  Roses Are Dance is an annual show that features select companies and the work of young dancers who participate in House of the Roses, an organization geared towards teaching children in transitional housing how to dance.

Companies who are chosen will get a 30 minute tech and perform a maximum of 8 minutes on June 13th at Columbia University’s prestigious Miller Theater. This performance is not only an opportunity to perform for a large audience from all over New York City, but it’s also a chance to give back to the community and give some kids their first chance to see live dance.

Applicants will be chosen based on originality and appropriateness for children. We would like to showcase a spectrum of dance genres.

To apply please email ckoenig@houseoftheroses.org to request an application. You will be asked to submit a completed application form, resume, and check for $25.

All submissions and payments must be received by May 6, 2011 (no hand deliveries). Chosen performers will be notified by May 20, 2011.

Please take time to learn more about House of the Roses by visiting www.houseoftheroses.com. Thanks.
