Undertoe Dance Project (a tap and jazz fusion company) is currently accepting submissions from choreographers working in the genres of tap dance and jazz dance for inclusion in the Undertoe Dance Festival this Fall. The Festival will be held on Friday, November 11, 2011 at the prestigious 92nd Street Y Buttenweiser Hall. Undertoe Dance Project’s mission is to create dance programs that are innovative, exciting, and accessible to both novice and veteran arts enthusiasts using the techniques of contemporary jazz and rhythm tap. Participation in the Undertoe Dance Festival will provide visibility and exposure to choreographers that are working in one of the dance genres that comprise Undertoe.

The application deadline is September 9, 2011. Choreographers must be 18 or older and living in the New York City Tri-State area to apply. To submit your work for consideration:

Once we have emailed you the Application Form, your Application Package should include:
1) Completed Application Form.
2) Video of the work you wish to present (on DVD or send a link to an online video site such as YouTube, Vimeo, Facebook, etc).
3) A choreographer bio/resume and company bio/history (if applicable).
4) If mailing your application, a self-addressed stamped envelope (SASE) if you would like your materials returned.

Group pieces can be up to 15 minutes in length, solo pieces can be up to 6 minutes in length. Please only submit completed works for consideration as we are not currently presenting works-in-progress. Rehearsal footage is acceptable.

This particular venue is has a low-tech setup. Please submit a piece that maybe presented in a lights up/lights down atmosphere to music that is in MP3 format. Live music is allowed, please contact us to discuss the scope as there is no amplification available for instruments.

There is currently no pay available for selected choreographers, but as payment for your artistry, you will receive both a DVD video of your piece and a CD of images from our professional photographer.
