Make A Smile Happen, or M.A.S.H., is a new Northern New Jersey Community Service Group that creatively combines a love for the arts with a love for humanitarian service. This group has two focuses. The group' s primary focus is to travel to nursing homes, children's hospitals, and veteran's homes both in Paterson as well as its surrounding cities and, in doing so, to host a variety of fun, engaging, and creative activities for the patients or residents of the homes and hospitals. So many of these patients and nursing home residents that MASH prospectively seeks to help are either often unvisited and therefore lonely, unable to leave their hospitals or homes due to illness or medical conditions, or live a mundane day-to-day routine without the promise of anything worthwhile. MASH is a service group that truly cares for its community's elderly and sick, and if through our visits we can bring happiness and hope to peoples' lives, than we have succeeded.

The second focus of MASH is fund-raising. MASH seeks to be able to donate financial support to different charities, a few of which include The Make-A-Wish Foundation, The Wounded Warrior Project, and UNICEF. Through hosting a variety of shows, silent auctions, bake sales, contests, holiday sales, food and clothing drives, toy drives, etc., MASH hopes to collect enough resources to be able to truly support those in need.

VOLUNTEERS: M.A.S.H is seeking dancers and artists of ALL talents, (singing, choreographing, acting, playwriting, the playing of instruments, makeup artistry/face painting, culinary arts, crafts, etc.) to join and take part in either one or both focuses of this service group. Professional experience is not required, only the desire to bring joy to others and the time to make it happen.
