Mash Up Body Audition: Updated Information

anonymous bodies is looking to cast three dancers for their new work, “Mash Up Body”, choreographed and directed by Kate Watson-Wallace and created in collaboration with video installation artist Ricardo Rivera and musician/DJ Chris Powell. “Mash Up Body” is a performance installation that examines a multi-tasking body in a dance with attention deficit disorder. Choreographer Miguel Gutierrez will work with Watson-Wallace as an outside eye/mentor in the process and Jaamil Kosoko will be the dramaturge. The piece will premiere at the Kelly Strayhorn Theater in 2013 as well as have a small tour.

“Mash Up Body” is being supported by the Pew Center for Arts and Heritage through Dance Advance, and the Kelly Strayhorn Theater.

**Intensive and Performance schedule:

June 18-23, 2012 - Intensive #1 in Philadelphia

July 11-18 2012 - Intensive #2 in Pittsburgh

July 30-Aug 5, 2012 - Intensive #3 in Philadelphia

Oct 2012 (Dates TBD) - Intensive #4 in Philadelphia

Jan 21-26, 2013 - Intensive # 5 in Pittsburgh

Mar 31-Apr 7, 2013 - Premiere at the Kelly Strayhorn Theater in Pittsburgh

**Intensive times will be scheduled around the dancers.

Paid rehearsals and performances ($25/hr for initial Philadelphia Intensives plus flat rate for Pittsburgh intensives and tour)

All per diem, travel, and housing paid for by anonymous bodies.

Three auditions will be held in three different cities (see details below). Please bring your headshot and resume (if you have one) and be ready to move at the start time of the audition. Kate's process is highly collaborative. We are looking for dancers who have trained in multiple styles of dance as well as have strong backgrounds in improvisation and partnering. Please note that even if this project conflicts with your schedule, we encourage you to still come to the audition so we may consider you for future projects.
