1 professional, responsible modern male dancer needed for paid performance in the Oct-Nov TBD. The movement style is grounded, fluid, highly physical, needs fierce dynamic performance, and requires being able to blend with a partner(s). The work is Aikido-inspired. Rehearsals start ASAP and are generally Monday and Thursday mornings 10am-12:30pm. An important part of the process will be understanding the philosophy of Aikido, momentum of energy, breathing, and practicing the elements of the technique while applying them to modern dance. There will be a performance stipend.
