Assistant Stage Managers for Site Specific Performance - Bronx, NY

 
Dancing in the Streets--a 28-year producer of free, adventurous & highquality public dance programs with community engagement, seeks stage management crew for PASEO, a site specific community event and dance performance that will celebrate the cultural history and music of the South Bronx in coordination with the opening of the South Bronx Culture Trail.

Selected applicants will be an integral member of the production team,working with event production staff, community members, and professional musicians and dancers, to coordinate a performance,created by choreographer Joanna Haigood and composer Bobby Sanabria,that will surround a moving audience over eleven blocks of outdoor performance ranging through parks, streets, fire escapes, and more,culminating in a Latin music and jazz concert.

Stipend is $75 per day, for 3 days.

responsibilities will include:

* prepping performance sites
* communicating with the rest of the production team to cue dancersand musicians throughout a complex event
* communicating with and organizing local residents and communitymembers involved in the event
* managing production elements incuding props, costumes, and sound sources
* working with the event Stage Manager to coordinate and runrehearsals that cover multiple blocks
* assisting with audience flow / crowd management


Spanish language skills are a plus for applicants. Please let us know if you do have any level.

Previous stage management, PA, or other production experience helpful.

You must be present for full days of rehearsal Oct 2 and Oct 5, and for final rehearsal and performance Oct 6, with a rain date of Oct 7.
