"Studio Sessions" with Stephen Petronio

This special mini-session of Stephen Petronio Company’s Pop-Up School is focused on a direct engagement with Petronio’s approach to the creative process. These 90-minute workshops will offer participants the opportunity to prepare for and be a part of Petronio's current movement practice while new material is generated in class.

Classes will begin with a warm-up that guides participants to make a muscular and skeletal connection to their unique physicality. Emphasis is placed on the articulation of the spine, the opening of the joints, and the direction and flow of energy throughout the body and into space.

Class will then shift to a focus on building movement through in-depth investigation of multiple states of consciousness in the body, physical play, and the tools that facilitate accidental discovery in defiance of logic.

These classes are a unique opportunity to experience Petronio's current creative practice from the ground up. Come prepared to work!
