Gowanus Art & Production seeks part-time Intern

 

Intern to Arts Coordinator 

About:

Gowanus Art + Production (GAP) is the art division of Gowanus Hospitality, a vanguard company, home of the Green Building, 501 Union and the Gowanus Gallery.  Gowanus Art & Production presents performance art, visual art and also services the production industry by providing filming locations. 

Intern Role:

The GAP intern’s primary role will be to provide creative support to the GAP Art Coordinator.  The GAP intern will work together with the Art Coordinator to produce semi-regular performance series and to build and maintain working relationships with producers and location scouts.

Intern Responsibilities:

Performing Arts:

-        Assist Art Coordinator in production of all GAP Presents performances

-        Liaise with performing artists prior to and after all GAP Presents performances

-        Update GAP website content

o   Write regular blog posts

o   Update Facebook and twitter accounts when necessary

Production:

-        Check Production weekly and reach out to local Film producers

-        Research what is shooting in NY in the areas of Feature film, Commercial, Photography, and TV

-        Add and update contacts in contact management database

Intern Qualifications:

-        Background in theater, dance, and or production

-        Familiarity with New York City’s theater or dance scene

-        Interest in Arts Administration

-        Bachelor’s Degree or appropriate work experience

-        Experience working in a theater
