Emerging choreographers in the early years of making and promoting their work are encouraged to submit an application for an audition. Please download and read the below Guidelines and FAQ, and Audition Form online here: http://www.newyorklivearts.org/programs/create/fresh-tracks.php

Of the 48 audition slots, 24 will be assigned randomly to artists who submit a form via email. The remaining 24 slots will be assigned based on recommendations from individuals invited by New York Live Arts.

To request an audition based on the random selection, complete and email the “Fresh Tracks Audition Form” as an attachment in PDF format to bkimitch@newyorklivearts.org. Your PDF must be submitted and named as follows: “Fresh Tracks Audition Form_FIRSTNAME_LASTNAME,” with the email subject line “Fresh Tracks Audition.”

All forms must be RECEIVED BY AUGUST 7, 2013 10AM EST to be considered. No exceptions. New York Live Arts can only accept one form for each interested choreographer. New York Live Arts will randomly select 24 choreographers from the forms received. Selected choreographers will be contacted by email in August with their assigned audition slot. We regret that we can only contact those artists selected for auditions, and a list of the auditioners will be posted on our website once it is available. There is no fee to audition.

About Fresh Tracks
Through the Fresh Tracks Performance and Residency Program, New York Live Arts provides an opportunity for new artistic voices to gain professional experience and recognition. Each year six early career artists are selected by a panel through a live audition process. Artists selected receive research, development, and performance support.

Fresh Tracks engages artists directly with peers, arts professionals and Live Arts staff in dialogues about their work within the context of the professional contemporary dance and performance field. In the spring, following their initial performances, each member of the group receives a 50-hour creative residency along with introductory level professional development workshops in marketing, fundraising and career development. Artists also participate in Dialogue sessions facilitating open discussion about their creative process and one-on-one consultations, both with Artistic Advisor Levi Gonzalez.
