Call for Choreographers for December 6th Performance

The Pearl is a mixed media dance concert series, giving choreographers and artists the opportunity to present new work.

The Pearl is comprised of two halves. The first half showcases new dance works by choreographers of all dance genres. The second presents collaborative works between dance artists and artists of other mediums, highlighting a rotating musical guest at the end of the program accompanied by Brooklyn Colored Girls Dance Team (BCGDT).

This quarterly series is designed to bring concert dance to viewers from the most avid to first time theater goers.

The Pearl producers designate seven slots for choreographers at all stages of their career and of all genres. Each choreographer is allotted seven minutes total to present their work and on the day of the show given two cues (lights up and down) with one color choice.

The Pearl is presented on a quarterly basis at the Actors Fund Arts Center in downtown Brooklyn. The Actors Fund Arts Center is a state of the art theater, equipped with wooden floors, marley, theatrical lighting, green room, projector and sound system.

The Pearl producers are currently looking for choreographers for its December 6, 2014 installment.

To apply for The Pearl please send along a detailed proposal of the work you’d like to present along with links to the proposed piece on Youtube or Vimeo. If you have more questions, please email us at wholelottaproductions@gmail.com. Thank you!
