Volunteer Teaching Artist

House of the Roses Volunteer Dance Company

House of the Roses (“HOTR) is looking for enthusiastic volunteers who are passionate about sharing their love of dance with the children of New York City. We visit our partner centers weekly, in teams of 2-3 volunteers. Interested volunteers should be prepared to commit roughly 10 hours/ month. This includes teaching a workshop in one homeless/ community center each week as well as a monthly skill-building workshop scheduled on Sunday afternoons.

About us:

House of the Roses Volunteer Dance Company offers at-risk New York City children and youth free weekly dance and creative movement classes. These classes and our curriculum are designed to encourage positive behavior and to cultivate creativity and both were developed to foster freedom of expression, healthy role-modeling, self-esteem, respect and joy in each of our students.

We look forward to seeing interested applicants this Sunday January 12th from 4pm-6pm at DANY Studios (305 W. 38th St.) for an open rehearsal and information session.
Prior to you attendance please address inquiries and resumes to Jessica at
