ADULT AND CHILD MODERN DANCERS

 

The Shadow Box Theatre, a children’s musical puppet theatre is holding auditions for adult and child male and female dancers for paid daytime rehearsals and performances (non-union). All auditions and rehearsals are in Brooklyn, near BAM, many subways. Artistic Director Sandra Robbins and choreographer Shela Xoregos seek multi-ethnic, well-trained contemporary dancers for the show, THE EARTH AND ME, performed barefoot (some sequences dancers handle puppets). April for weekday Rehearsals, May for weekday performances, 1 Sunday, (23 perfs.), touring to venues in Brooklyn, Bronx, Queens and  Manhattan.  Auditions: Tuesday March 4.  Adult auditions 4-5 PM and 6- 7:00 PM; Child dancers (under 4'11") from 5 - 6:00 pm. Parents: Note that rehearsals/perfs. are during school hours, so children who are home-schooled or can be released from school should apply. Call-backs, and possible additional auditions, Thursday, March 6th from 4 PM to 6:30. Send picture/resume (include dance training & experience) to jobs@shadowboxtheatre.org.
