Seeking Dancers, Actors, Musicians for March 21 Workshop Performance: Story Weavers

Ensemble Dance seeking dancers, actors, musicians, and those with experience in combinations of dance, theater and music.

Rehearsals begin week of February 17th until performance at Dixon Place on Friday, March 21, 7:30 pm as part of the Works-In-Progress series.

This will be the first workshop-excerpt presentation "Story Weavers" a brand new Play with Music and Dance (tanztheater), that will be written, directed and choreographed by Pilar Castro Kiltz, with some collaboration with the performers. Must be comfortable with a creative, improvisatory atmosphere with an emphasis on ensemble work.

Original music being composed by Theo Popov. Live music is an important aspect of the piece, and any vocal or instrumental abilities a plus.

Seeking both lead roles that have more speaking lines, and chorus members who focus more on dance, as well as those who can do a variety of both. Also seeking musicians who are comfortable being an integral part of the scenes. Piece will be molded by the performers and what they bring to the studio.

This commitment is until first workshop performance March 21, with possibility of extending when the piece is developed into an evening length work. At least 6 hours of rehearsal per week for the 5-week rehearsal period. Possibly more depending on size of role.

Auditions are by appointment, on February 17, 18, 19, 20. Please indicate your availability on those dates in your submission.

Please email headshot, resume, and what times you are available (for Monday February 17-Thursday February 20) to EnsembleDance@gmail.com with "Story Weavers Audition" in the subject line.

Optional: Include no more than 2 links of either video reel and/or audio samples, cued to key moment, with short description of what it is.
