Trisha Brown Dance Company Internship

 

Trisha Brown Dance Company is dedicated to the creation, performance, and preservation of the work of Trisha Brown. For the last 44 years, TBDC has toured throughout the world performing, teaching, and building relationships with audiences and artist alike. 

The Trisha Brown Dance Company is looking for applicants that are self-motivated, energetic, detail-oriented, and reliable. Preference is given to candidates with experience in dance, theater production or archives.

Although all TBDC internships are unpaid, interns are given the opportunity to gain experience in the operations of an internationally renowned dance company. If desired, interns may make arrangements with a college or university to receive school credit.

The Internship openings are as follows:

Studio Internship
Assist the Associate Artistic Directors with studio rehearsals and administrative tasks. Preference is given to candidates who can be at rehearsals on Monday mornings and Friday afternoons.

 

Administrative Internship
Assist in the business and management operations of the organization. This internship requires superb organizational skills and someone who can assist in implementing systems to help streamline work process/flow. This is especially for those interested in arts administration professionally.

 

Archives Internship
Assist the Archives Department with an audio inventory project as well as database updates.

 

Education & Marketing Internship
Assist Education Director in multiple aspects of marketing and administering dance education programs. Intern will also help on-site with the logistical oversight of workshops and classes. 

 
Development Internship 
Assist Development Director with preparations for fundraising and events. Candidates should possess strong writing and editing skills in the English language as (s)he will be drafting correspondence and other writing materials. This internship requires a well-organized applicant with the ability to prioritize and meet hard deadlines.

 

All applicants must be available for a 3 to 6 month commitment. Intern schedules can be flexible but we expect a minimum of 8 hours a week, Monday through Friday.

Applicants should be able to house themselves in the NY metro area. Interns may attend TBDC education classes & workshops free of charge.
