"An explosive journey" wrote the writer and journalist Nick Mwaluko, to describe the work of the French and Malagasy (Madagascar) choreographer Gwen Rakotovao. Based in New York City and founded in 2011, the Gwen Rakotovao Company is a contemporary dance company, honoring and valuing the diversity of cultures trough movements.

Since its creation, dances by Gwen Rakotovao have been performed nationally in New York, Miami and toured internationally in Rouen (France), Antananarivo (Madagascar) and Bangkok (Thailand).

 

GRC is looking for MALE & FEMALE Dancers to perform at the Gwen Rakotovao Company’s Opening season in NYC taking place in fall 2014.

 

Gwen Rakotovao Artistic Director- requires versatile contemporary dancers with strong ballet technique. Dancers in their OPT year are strongly encouraged to apply. Dancers are required to be available and in New York City for all summer and will receive a stipend.

 

 

Audition:

May 31th 9:30am-11:30am,

At Gibney Dance (890 Broadway)

 

Audition by appointment only.
