WE INVITE ARTISTS TO APPLY TO WESTFEST TOP FLOOR 2015 / NEW DEADLINE is January 22, 2015.

Festival dates: April 30- May 3 2015 at 8PM 

The festival has two distinct programs - WestFest Top Floor, at the Martha Graham Theater and All Over Westbeth, our exciting site specific program. Artists interested in applying to our Top Floor program please see information below. 

A series of fully produced dance concerts held in Westbeth’s legendary top floor studio currently home to the Martha Graham Dance Company and formerly to Merce Cunningham Dance Company. Each artist will have the opportunity to show a new work or revision of recent piece (8 minute max) in two nights of shared performance.  

We are happy to announce that this year each artist who is accepted will receive free production costs. The rental fee of this historic venue as well as production expenses are on us!

 

SELECTED ARTISTS WILL RECEIVE:

* An opportunity to present work in a beautiful dance space full of history.

* FREE Production costs

* Two (2) fully-produced performances of work (8 min max) from Thursday, April 30, 2015 to Sunday, May 3, 2015 

* 20min tech rehearsal slot on Wednesday April 29.

* Publicity and postcards for the event

* Eligibility to book rehearsal in the Martha Graham Studio Theater at a discounted rate of $10/hour

STEP 1 - Pay the $25 application fee via PayPal. Note that one application fee is required for each application you submit. Choreographers can apply with as many works for Top Floor, and projects for Site Specific as they want. 

STEP 2 - Complete the application form in reference to the program you want to apply TopFloor or All over Westbeth. Please include a link to a video sample via online source (such as Youtube or Vimeo). Work Samples must be at least 3 continuous minutes in length and be of the proposed work. Minimal cuts/edits are preferred, and rehearsal video of the proposed work is acceptable.

WestFest is a cutting edge curated festival presenting emerging and established movement artists in the historic Westbeth Artists’ Residence at West Village, NYC.
